What is Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana?

The Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana is a health insurance scheme launched by the Government of Gujarat in India on 4th September 2012. The aim of the Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana is to provide or facilitate healthcare to economically disadvantaged individuals, including those below the poverty line, in Gujarat. Under this scheme, lower-income families are entitled to healthcare or medical treatment up to Rs. 5 lakh. There is no requirement to pay any premium as it is fully funded by the State Government of Gujarat. The scheme covers a range of medical treatments, including hospitalization, surgeries, diagnostic services, medications, and post-surgery treatments.

Some of the key features of the Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana:

Eligibility: Those who have a low annual income, are below the poverty line, or whose family's annual income does not exceed Rs. 4 lakh, as well as senior citizens with an annual income of up to Rs. 6 lakh, are eligible to apply for the Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana.

Coverage: The scheme provides coverage for a wide range of medical treatments; including hospitalization, surgeries, and procedures, up to Rs. 5 lakh. It also covers post-treatment expenses.

Cashless Treatment: Under this scheme, treatment at empanelled hospitals is completely cashless. Beneficiaries can be admitted to the hospital by presenting their health card and identity proof.

Premium: Since the scheme is sponsored by the State Government, beneficiaries do not have to pay any premium to avail the benefits.

Smart Health Card: Eligible beneficiaries receive a smart health card, facilitating easy identification and access to all medical coverages.

Pre-existing Diseases: The scheme covers pre-existing diseases from day one, providing much-needed financial relief to beneficiaries with chronic health conditions.

Documents Required: To avail the Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana scheme, individuals are required to provide the following documents:

Identity proof: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID

Address Proof: Ration Card, Aadhaar Card

Other: Income certificate, Passport-size photo

Enrolment Process: The enrolment process is simple. Individuals can visit the nearest Civic Centre along with all the necessary documents. Beneficiaries need to fill out the form with proper details. The officers will then take biometric information such as fingerprints and a face scan. After verifying all the details and completing all formalities, the Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana card is issued to the beneficiary.
